Legend has it that modern vermouth can be traced back to Antonio Benedetto Carpano in 1786, who crafted its first incarnation in Turin with a secret recipe that’s still used to this day. Notes of vanilla, dried herbs, bitter orange, and cocoa beans. Wonderful for sipping, exceptional in cocktails.
