The Cardedu Vermentino di Sardegna Nuo 2020 is a savory and mineral-driven white wine from the island of Sardinia.

The Loi family, who run Cardedu, are fourth-generation traditional Sardinian producers and follow a minimal intervention philosophy. The Vermentino grapes are grown on sandy, decomposed granite soils near the coast, which contributes to the wine's characteristic saline notes.

The wine is fermented with native yeasts and sees a short period of skin contact (around 6-8 hours) before aging in stainless steel or large cement tanks. This process gives the wine a lovely texture and complexity. The flavor profile is often described as having notes of sea salt, wild herbs (sage, basil, rosemary), lemon zest, and chalky stone fruit.
