High in the Sierra de Gredos mountains west of Madrid, Bernabeleva is making some of Spain's most exciting expressions of Garnacha. Their Camino de Navaherreros is a wonderfully fresh, fragrant red, full of wild raspberries, pomegranate, dried rose petals, and mountain herbs, with a subtle mineral edge from the region's granitic soils. Light on its feet but full of character, with delicate tannins and bright acidity, it's a beautiful alternative to the richer, more powerful Garnachas of southern Spain. Serve with a table full of Spanish tapas.
