Winemaking: Hand-destemmed and foot-crushed, then co-fermented with native yeast in small open-top bins with twice-daily punchdowns. Pressed after about three weeks on the skins and aged in neutral oak; unfined and unfiltered with a small addition of sulfur at bottling.

California red with a distinctly French point of view. Black currant, blueberry, dried herbs, black pepper and a little wild mountain garrigue come together with fine-grained tannins and a long, savory finish. Structured and earthy but still wonderfully fresh...a bottle for roast lamb, grilled steak, or a very serious plate of cheese.
