Husband-and-wife team Mikey and Gina Giugni (Lady of the Sunshine) are making some of California's most compelling coastal wines, and this beautiful little Rhône-inspired blend is no exception. Grown just a stone's throw from the Pacific, their Syrah and Grenache come together in a wonderfully fragrant red full of black raspberries, wild herbs, lavender, and cracked pepper. Savory, energetic, and beautifully balanced, with bright acidity and a refreshing lightness that sets it apart from the bigger, bolder reds often associated with California. Only 168 cases were made, so consider this your invitation to bring a little of the Central Coast to the dinner table. Especially lovely with grilled eggplant, roasted mushrooms, or anything involving rosemary and olive oil.
